Wrath of the Damned - One who May Ascend (OMA) Prod. by Corey Laury Official Music Video by YV Media
One of "The 7 Deadly Sins", Wrath's compulsive nature continues to elude me, as I've yet to fully comprehend its violent tendencies. Throughout the history of humanity, anger has caused infinite deaths, and until we are able to harness the power of anger for the betterment of the human race, we will continue to be plagued by our own fury, victims of our own circumstance.
Maybe anger isn't to be avoided but instead accepted and dealt with in a humane manner in accordance to our principles and values, as anger is an emotion not only deeply rooted in our history, but also our biology; to deny our emotions is to deny the very imperfections that makes us human. Anger is a significant part of our lives...but at what cost? Are anger and violence inherently related, two pieces of the same puzzle, inseparable? Because if so, humanity very well may be on the brink of its own eminent destruction, at its own hand.
What will be the fate of the human race? Will we improve our standard of living by assuming more humane, empathetic perspectives and lifestyles, or succumb to our own selfish desires, and "human nature" according to the example history has provided for us thus far? Because if so, "damned" is merely a euphemism to describe how fucked we truly are...
Face Your Fears - One who May Ascend (OMA) Prod. by Aggressive Beats Official Video Shot by YV Media
The omnipresence of fear throughout our daily lives can be observed regularly, whether within ourselves individually, or society as a whole...
Originally, in its primitive form, fear was a defense mechanism, a key to our survival, to alert us of the dangers of the world in which we live, but as we adapted to more domestic lifestyles, our fears adapted as well, personalizing themselves to "better suit" our needs.
This new fear assumes many forms; the fear of failure, the fear of success, the fear of mediocrity, and the fear of ostracism are just a few in which fear now manifests itself, all illusions forged in order to reduce risk for the sake of keeping us "safe and secure" by today's standards, when in reality, safety, not unlike perfection, is no more than a superstition.
It is this fear that holds us back from opportunity, withholds us from success, suppresses our desires, squanders our dreams, and keeps us from realizing our maximum potential in life...
Will we succumb to, or face our fears?
